Welcome to Al Moore on vocals. In his own words…..
I’ve been involved with music for ever. I joined the army at 16 years of age as a fairly accomplished trombonist in the Royal Artillery Band, and performed all over the world with them in a career spanning 26 years. In my mid 20′s I started singing with their function band, and whilst I wasn’t that great, I was better than the usual guy, about whom it was said ‘was good between numbers!’ We did loads of West End hotel work, as well as the usual army functions in UK, Germany and Iraq. The army band was great and we did some support work with Status Quo last year, performing to an audience of around 10,000 on a huge stage, which was a real high point for me.
When I auditioned for TLS they asked me what music I listened to, and its quite diverse. I love James Taylor because of his voice, the same can be said for Elton John. Stevie Wonder is awesome, and I love the horns and funk of Tower of Power. But I guess what drew me to TLS is the stuff they do, like Paul Weller, Stereophonics, Razorlight, Kings of Leon, Doobie Brothers etc.
I love to have fun, and hope that comes over in my performance with the guys.
